.History of Our Club

The Four Flags Snowmobile Club has been in existence since 1970. The club became incorporated in June 1980. At the present time, the club has about 30 members. Over the years the club has gained and lost membership. The amount of snowfall does play a major role in contributing to this. However, the snowmobile sport has continued to grow over the years and is a major tourist attraction in Michigan.
The snowmobile club's success is contributed to its membership. Without active hard working members, the trail system would cease to exist. With active members, we can improve and extend our trail system. Presently the trail is state funded which means the financial backing is obtained from the State of Michigan; however, the maintenance and the filing of paperwork is the responsibility of the membership. The Four Flags Snowmobile Club, Inc. maintains approximately 66 miles of trail. The trail begins in Niles near Anderson Road and continues up through Sister's Lake and M-140. The maintenance of the trail consists of brush removal, putting up signs, building & repairing bridges, and grooming.
